You Don't Have to Know What to Do With Your Life
On at least a semi-annual basis, I have a crisis of “not knowing what to do with my life.” If you’re in your twenties (or hell even thirties, forties, or beyond), you may even be going through this right now.
Luckily, we don’t have to know right now.
I’m 42.
I’m supposed to have it all “figured out”.
I don’t.
If you’re 22 or 32 don’t worry if you haven’t got it “figured out” yet.
P.S. Enjoy the “figuring it out” part. It’s part of the fun in life.

You don’t have to have your life figured out right now. If you don’t know what you want to do, it’s totally fine to explore and taste different things. If you’re able to spend a few extra years living with your parents rent free while you try different career paths, business ideas, or simply building different skills, dig into that. That’s a huge privilege. If you have bills to pay, try doing it in your free time. You won’t have a whole lot of time to work on these things, but it’ll be progress nonetheless.
If asking yourself “what do I want to do with my life” is too intimidating, break it down. Ask yourself: What do I feel like doing today? What actions would bring me joy and growth in my life? If you had no commitments and endless money, what would you work on?
Give yourself permission to go out and do the things you love. Work to find a way to start taking baby steps towards those things. You don’t have to know the path, you just need to start walking.
